Touchstone Energy Scholar of the Week: Hannah Even

Our Touchstone Energy Scholar of the Week October 1-7 is Hannah Even, a senior at Baltic High School. Hannah has a long list of activities and academic achievement along with her 3.99 GPA.

A day in the life of Hannah Even is a busy one.

"Usually, I have dance practice after school or cheer. Running between both. Teaching dance. Going home, do homework and repeat," Senior Hannah Even said. "I participate in football cheer, basketball cheer, NHS, dance, teach dance, volunteer at the state parks for the last four years in the summer."

Hannah's favorite class, she says, is psychology. She has a favorite teacher too.

"Anything with Mr. Baskerville. We learn life lessons. We don't use a textbook half the time. It's all about learning life lessons and relating it back to the class," Hannah said.

Mr. Baskerville, himself, calls Hannah a one-of-a-kind student.

She's a goal-driven person. One who has an idea what she wants. She's taken those steps and trying to reach that goal," Baltic High School Teacher Alan Baskerville said.

Speaking of goals, helping people is what Hannah wants to turn into a career.

"I'm looking at OT right now; I mostly want to work with kids. Hospitals and schools are my main interest right now," she said.

She has some advice for her younger, fellow classmates.

Try your hardest but don't let it stress you out too much. Still have fun but don't slack. You're still here to learn but don't stress over it," Hannah Even said.

For being named our Scholar of the Week, Hannah receives a $100 scholarship from Sioux Valley Energy which is a local Touchstone Energy Cooperative.
