CORSICA, S.D. (KSFY) - The Touchstone Energy Scholar of the Week is Kassidy Clark, a senior at Corsica-Stickney High School.
With a 4.0 GPA, Kassidy is an athlete, performer, member of 4-H and the student council.
Kassidy enjoys her time in the classroom. She said a smaller school has a great advantage with more one-on-one time.
"They still challenge you," she said. "They push you to be your best, they want you to achieve in everything you do. It definitely shows."
Her all-time favorite class in high school was accounting.
"You have to figure out, it makes you think and prepare finances and stuff," she said.
Lessons Kassidy can take with her in the fall when she goes to Mitchell Tech for radiology.
"I started job shadowing, I definitely want to do this," she said. "It's active, and they want to help people."
Her math teacher, Jacque Boyle, said Kassidy will do great wherever she goes.
"She ranks right up there with the best of them," Boyle said. "She works really hard, and you can tell with her work ethic in the classroom that she's there with the rest of them too, she wants to do well. She's got a smile she carries through the halls. Other teachers see it. She's talking to all ages, it's nice to see that in the students as well."
Kassidy said her inspiration to work hard comes from home.
"My older sister is two years older than me," she said. "She's always pushed me to get good grades and try my hardest."
For being named the Scholar of the Week, Kassidy received a $100 scholarship from Douglas Electric Cooperative, which is a local Touchstone Energy Cooperative.
