BERESFORD (KSFY) - Authorities temporarily closed off a portion of Interstate 29 after a truck caught fire on Thursday.

According to the South Dakota Highway Patrol, it happened around 1:20 p.m. about seven miles south of Beresford. The driver of a semi tractor trailer noticed smoke coming from underneath his trailer, so he pulled over.

The fire spread to the engine and ended up destroying the cab of the truck. No one was hurt, but traffic had to be rerouted for about ten minuted due to the large amount of smoke in the area.
