The Sioux Falls Catholic Schools system is rebranding under a new name.
The system will now be known as Bishop O'Gorman Catholic Schools, officials announced Wednesday morning.
According to a media release, the names of the individual schools will not be changed, but each will have the "Bishop O'Gorman Catholic Schools" tag. Officials say this aims to reflect that they are a preschool through 12th grade cohesive school system.
Students from 20 different communities attend schools within the Catholic school system, which was formed in 1991.
"This name change will send a message to students and families from outside Sioux Falls that we welcome students interested in a quality, faith-based education," Bishop O'Gorman Catholic Schools President Kyle Groos said. "You don't have to live in Sioux Falls to attend one of our schools."
