Sioux Falls City Council approves mixed-use parking ramp

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - The Sioux Falls City Council voted 6-1 Tuesday to move forward with a new mixed-use parking ramp in the downtown area.

Council members Christine Erickson and Greg Neitzert have been very vocal about being in favor of this proposal. City council member Theresa Stehly said she does not support the project for a variety of reasons.

The 13-story building would include more than 500 public parking spaces, 120 hotel rooms and nearly 40,000 square feet of commercial space. The entire project would cost $50 million. Thirty million dollars would come from a private investment and the remaining $20.6 million would come from user fees, which are parking fees in Downtown Sioux Falls.
