Travelers flying in and out of Sioux Falls are back at Sioux Falls Regional Airport Sunday following a nearly 36-hour closure.
Blizzard conditions on Friday night and all day Saturday forced the airport to close Friday night as visibility worsened. Hundreds of travelers had to cancel their flights. KSFY News caught up with one of them.
"I flew out for a wedding this weekend and a little bit of unfortunate weather that we have going here, but I'm trying to get back to the Detroit area," traveler Jonathan Tracy said. "This is typical Midwestern weather. I wasn't surprised about it at all so yeah. You just have to roll with the punches, stay inside, stay warm."
Johnathan Tracy was supposed to fly out around 1:00 p.m. Saturday which was right in the middle of the blizzard. His flight was rescheduled to 3:00 p.m. Sunday.
