Sioux Falls School District delays start because of flooding

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Sioux Falls School District notified families Thursday night there will be a two-hour late start Friday because of flooding in the city.

An email was sent out to families about 7:45 PM that night.

The school district consulted with the city of Sioux Falls and came to this decision to delay the start for two hours. They cited several roads that are impassable because of the flood waters.

They believe it will help reduce the traffic around schools and help everyone arrive safely.
