UPDATE: Sioux Falls man accused of strangling, threatening girlfriend

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - UPDATE, Monday:

Police have released more details in an aggravated assault investigation that began over the weekend.

According to Public Information Officer Sam Clemens, 23-year-old Caleb Austin Andree is accused of strangling his girlfriend after threatening her with a BB gun.

Clemens said the altercation began Sunday when Andree's girlfriend attempted to leave the home during an argument. It took place with the couple's children in the house.

The children were unharmed and Andree's girlfriend did not suffer any major injuries other than strangulation marks, Clemens said.

Police arrested Andree for aggravated assault and simple assault.

ORIGINAL STORY, Sunday:

One person is behind bars Sunday afternoon after officers were called to a residence for a weapons violation.

Officers were called to the 1400 block of East 5th street just before 2:00 Sunday afternoon.

When they arrived on scene, the found a victim outside with some children.

Officers arrested 23-year-old Caleb Austin Andree without incident.

He was charged with aggravated assault.

The weapon involved was a BB gun.
