Sioux Falls man pleads guilty to sexual contact in day care abuse case

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - A Sioux Falls man accused of touching young girls inappropriately years ago at an in-home day care has pleaded guilty.

David Hirsch pleaded guilty on Friday to one count of sexual contact with minor under 16. He faces up to 15 years in prison for the Class 3 felony with a minimum of 10 years.

His sentencing is scheduled for March 4, 2019.

Hirsch was first accused in December of 2017 by a teenage girl who said he touched her inappropriately in his garage workshop when she was 9 years old.

In January, an adult woman came forward with information that Hirsch also touched her inappropriately about 23 years ago when she was 8 years old.

Later that month, a 5-year-old girl said Hirsch touched her inappropriately when she was 4 years old.

The incidents happened when Hirsch and his wife operated an in-home day care. It closed in June 2017. His wife has not been charged with any crimes.
