SiouxFalls.Business Report: January 8, 2019

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (SIOUXFALLS.BUSINESS) - Jodi Schwan with SiouxFalls.Business stopped by the KSFY Studio to discuss the latest business news:

The Jones 421 building downtown is filling up with more small businesses.

It is already a mini marketplace of tenants in the area of 6th Street and Phillips Avenue, but more are on the way, including Papa Woody's Wood Fired Pizza, which has a food truck, kids clothing store Corduroy & Pixie Dust, which is expanding from Dell Rapids, and Intoxibakes, a bake shop with some alcohol-infused treats. MK Threads boutique also is expanding in the building.

The new businesses will open in the next few months, but in the meantime make sure to stop by and support the unique local stores and restaurants already there. This can be a tougher time of year with less foot traffic up there.

Callaway's is winding down this week. After 20 years in operation, the restaurant and pub along Prairie Green is Closing this Saturday.

The new owners are well known in the neighborhood – they run Look's Market nearby at 69th Street and Western Avenue.

While SiouxFalls.Business does not know much about what they are planning, they have said it will be a celebration of food and community.

It is likely the property will be remodeled, so it might be several months before customers can check it out.
