SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (SIOUXFALLS.BUSINESS) - Jodi Schwan with SiouxFalls.Business stopped by the KSFY Studio to discuss the latest business news:

A Sioux Falls law firm is marking 140 years by supporting development of future lawyers.

Boyce Law Firm was founded in 1878 and now has 22 attorneys with an office in downtown Sioux Falls. To celebrate the big milestone, the firm is funding three years of a class at the USD Law School that gives future lawyers hands-on practice at their work.

The firm's leadership said preparing and keeping its future workforce will be critical for staying business another century, as the profession is dealing with changes.

Some people now are using online resources for their legal services. And the Sioux Falls market has seen a growth in out-of-state firms as well as companies hiring their own in-house attorneys.

Axe throwing has definitely arrived in Sioux Falls.

JJ's Axes & Ales opens Wednesday in the former JJ's on Western Avenue next to Starbucks. It's a very contained activity with supervision. Customers reserve spots in one-hour increments and that includes instruction from an "axe-pert."

JJ's will be stocking more beer there in the coming weeks. To start, there will be 12 on tap with some retro options. Discounted cases will be added later.

It is the second establishment to offer axe-throwing in town. Escape 605 added it on Westport Avenue recently and it will be a focal point of the new downtown location which is opening later this fall.
