The U.S.A swim team continues to win gold in Rio.
Thursday Michael Phelps broke a 2000 year old Olympic record and Simone Manuel of Texas became the first African American woman to win a gold medal in swimming.
A South Dakota native has met all of the iconic swim team's competitors, organizing all of the U.S. meets that helped them qualify for the Olympics.
"We've been the number one swim team in the world for a number of years now, but I think a lot of us are surprised by just how well we've been doing this week," South Dakota Native Dean Ereken said.
Ekeren is a former member of the USD swim team and grew up swimming in Yankton.
He is now the national director for all USA swimming events, including the Olympic trials.
While he's not in Rio this week, he says it’s incredible to watch the nation's best swimmers become the best in the world.
