Southeast Tech announces $6.2 million capital campaign

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - In honor of the school's 50th anniversary, Southeast Technical Institute in Sioux Falls has announced the launch of its first-ever capital campaign.

The school hopes to raise $6.2 million, half of which has already been committed.

The money will help Southeast Tech connect more students to high-paying employers in the region.

"A partnership and support with our community and particularly the workforce development that this city needs," Southeast Tech Now Campaign co-chair David Long said. "STI has done that really, really well over the past years, but it's important for us to continue to do that, and the best way to do that is partnering with all the great employers in this city."

The campaign coincides with Southeast Tech's 50th anniversary.

A celebration is being held at the school's campus until 9 p.m. Thursday night.
