Southeast Technical Institute celebrates 50 years with community event

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The staff at Southeast Technical Institute in Sioux Falls is celebrating 50 years with a community event on campus on Thursday. The institution is celebrating "Igniting Careers for 50 Years."

The goal of the event is to thank the community for the support they've given the college over the past years.

It starts at 4:00 PM and will run until 9:00 PM on the campus. The campus is located at 2300 North Career Avenue. It is a free event open to the general public.

There will be food trucks from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Free events include yard games, a kid's zone, a car show, and a fireworks finale. It is free to enter your car, motorcycle or truck into the show. A children's performance from Phil Baker will start at 6:00 PM. A concert by country artist and former American Idol contestant Bucky Covington will begin at 7:15 PM.

Complimentary cupcakes will also be handed out.
