A dam on the Niobrara River in Nebraska has breached.

According to the Knox County Sheriff's Office, the Spencer Dam has been compromised.
Several homes along the Niobrara River had to be evacuated.
Authorities say a portion of Highway 281 near the dam was washed out due to the dam failure.
The dam breach comes after rain and melting snow resulted in flooding around the region.
