Summit League Fan Fest brings new experience for second year at Sioux Falls Arena

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Fan Fest was first introduced to basketball fans in 2017 in Sioux Falls. Summit League Commissioner Tom Douple said about 4,000 fans attended it. He's expecting even more to attend this year. The reason the league brought it to the arena last year was because he wanted to make this tournament an experience for the fans. He wanted something more than just watching the games for basketball fans.

Fan Fest is somewhere children and adults can pose for pictures, test their skills and be a part of team pep rallies throughout the day. It is free for anyone to attend. You do not have to have a ticket to one of the basketball games to attend.

Douple said the league changed a rule that was in place at last year’s Summit League. Fans who have a ticket to the Summit League will now be able to leave the PREMIER Center, get a stamp on the way out and return to the PREMIER Center after enjoying Fan Fest. Another thing changed for this year is more things were added to the coloring area for the kids.

The Fan Fest is Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM. It is free to attend. You can click on the link in the related links section in this article to find a full list of activities.
