Teenagers can work out for free at Planet Fitness this summer

This summer, teenagers can ditch the couch potato phase and get active at no cost to their parents.

From May 15 to Sept. 1, teens ages 15 to 18 to work out at any Planet Fitness location, including the Sioux Falls location, for free, according to a release from the company. The announcement is part of the company's "Teen Summer Challenge." The program offers a solution for teenagers an opportunity to stay active during the summer when school sports programs, gym classes or afterschool activities wind down.

Teens under the age of 18 must bring their parents to sign up. Once a waiver is signed, they can work out alone. Also, teens can only work out at the location where they signed up.
