WAGNER, S.D. (KSFY) - Our Touchstone Energy Scholar of the Week is Carolyn Blaha, who is a senior at Wagner High School.
She is involved in everything from volleyball, track, national honor society, FFA, band, chorus and much more.
On top of it all -- a perfect 4.0 GPA.
It's a busy start to a new school year for Carolyn.
"We have calculus, college English, and I'm taking four college classes -- college English, algebra, psychology and sociology," she said
As a Scholar of the Week, Wagner staff members said Carolyn is the ideal well-rounded student.
"She is probably one of the most positive girls that I've ever met come through the halls in Wagner since my time as high school counselor," counselor Vanessa Iverson said. "She has something positive to say, she's bubbly, she's always smiling. She's one of those students and peers who is always willing to help others. I really value that about her. She rocks out the extracurricular actives that she's involved in and also her academic classes."
Carolyn is already looking ahead to next year.
"I'm still on the fence. I still need to fill out scholarships, so hopefully that'll help me make my final decision.," she said. "I've applied to USD and SDSU, and I'm planning on applying to Benedictine in Kansas and U Mary in Bismark, North Dakota."
For being named our Scholar of the Week, Carolyn receives a $100 scholarship from Charles Mix Electric Association, which is a Touchstone Energy Cooperative.
