Turkey plant in Huron to undergo $39M in expansion projects

A turkey processing plant in Huron is expanding.

Dakota Provisions will expand the cold storage space at its existing plant at a cost of $9 million, and also expand into another building in a local industrial park, at a cost of $30 million.

Greater Huron Development Corp. President and CEO Jim Borszich says the larger project could result in 250 new jobs in the city.

Dakota Provisions had considered Aberdeen and Mitchell as expansion sites but decided Huron was the best option.
