Two businesses fail alcohol compliance check in Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Sgt. Scott Van Roekel with the Sioux Falls Police Department said 25 businesses were checked in the southwest area of the city on Monday. Two failed the compliance check.

Carnaval Brazilian Grill on South Carolyn Avenue and The Gas Stop on South Minnesota Avenue both failed this check. Someone sold alcohol to a person under the age of 21.

Both businesses were issued a summons for furnishing alcohol to a person 18-20 years old and given a court date.

These compliance checks are done in an effort to protect the young people in the community, so Sgt. Van Roekel said these checks will continue.
