Two from Indiana arrested in Sioux Falls for promoting prostitution

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - Two people from Indiana are behind bars in Sioux Falls after police say they tried to get two women involved in prostitution.

Public Information Officer said the two women and their two teenage daughters were staying at a friend's home Saturday night after traveling to the city from another state.

At the home, they met 29-year-old Cornelius Antoine Green, who said he would pay for them to stay at a hotel for one night, then they would have to "work off" any additional nights.

Monday afternoon, the women met with Green and 30-year-old Amanda Gail Shelby at the hotel in the northeast part of Sioux Falls.

Green allegedly showed a handgun and set it on an end table during the meeting. He also allegedly gave the women's daughters marijuana.

The women made an excuse to leave and told police what happened.

Officers arrested Green and Shelby -- both of Kokomo, Indiana -- as they were leaving the hotel for promoting prostitution and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Green was additionally arrested for pimping because the hotel room was under his name.

Police did not find a handgun.
