SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - U.S.S. South Dakota crew members will have their 26th reunion in Sioux Falls Thursday through Saturday.
The public is invited to attend a program Saturday starting at 10:00 AM at the Battleship Memorial in the city. That memorial is located near the intersection of 12th Street and Kiwanis Avenue. A band concert will start the program at 10:00 AM and Lt. Governor Matt Michels will speak at the event. Crew members from the battleship will also share their stories.
The crew members will be joined by members of the second generation and friends. This is the 77th anniversary of the U.S.S. South Dakota and the 26th reunion for the crew members. There are just four crew members who will be returning this year for the reunion from all over the United States.
It's a chance for them to get together to talk about their time serving on the ship.
