Several homeowners rescued from rising waters in Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - Sioux Falls Fire Rescue used boats to get people out of their homes in south Sioux Falls Thursday.

KSFY News Reporter Ricardo Lewis was in neighborhood near the intersection of South Minnesota Avenue and West Lotta Street.

That's just South of Interstate 229. It also sits along the the Big Sioux River.

Crews were using boats to get to people in their homes, which were surrounded by water.

Some residents made the decision, however, to stay in their homes.
