Wolsey-Wessington football coach pleads guilty to DUI

BEADLE COUNTY, S.D. (KSFY) - Wolsey-Wessington football coach Gordon Hooks-Williams has pleaded guilty Friday to a DUI charge.

Police pulled over Hooks-Williams in Huron last month for speeding.

The arresting officer said Hooks-Williams' breath smelled of alcohol. He also said the coach tried to swallow some marijuana to conceal it.

In exchange for his plea, the judge granted him a suspended imposition of sentence. That means if he has no new criminal convictions in the next year, his conviction will be sealed.
