Aberdeen Wings advance to NAHL Central Division Championship

(Aberdeen wins series, 3-1) – The Aberdeen Wings will be getting a rematch with the Minot Minotauros, this time it will be for the right to represent the Central Division at the Robertson Cup. The Wings are on to the Central Division Finals after defeating the Austin Bruins in Game 4 by a score of 3-1. Tim Makowski got the scoring started late in the first period after a nice feed from Joe Strada. Jonathan Bendorf scored the eventual game-winning goal in the 2nd period and John Sladic sealed the win with an empty net goal. Matt Vernon continued his impressive season by allowing just one goal on 21 Austin shots. The lone Bruins goal came from Josef Mysak with 3:57 left in the third. Kyle McClellan took the loss as he made 23 stops.
