SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Highlighted by six home games, including Viking Days, Hall of Fame and a 10th-anniversary celebration of Kirkeby-Over Stadium, Augustana Football has unveiled their 2019 schedule.
Fans interested in purchasing season tickets or joining the A-Club for the 2019 season can fill out an interest form on GoAugie.com and Augustana Athletics staff will get back to them promptly. Public season tickets start at only $69 for adult general admission seating to all six home contests. Additional information for current A-Club members regarding their exclusive discount on season tickets and their annual A-Club membership renewal will be arriving in the mail in the next week.
Augustana's seventh season under head coach Jerry Olszewski will open at home on Saturday, Sept. 7 vs. Upper Iowa. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Kirkeby-Over Stadium. The game will mark the second-straight season Augustana opens the year against the Peacocks. A season ago on the road, Augustana trailed Upper Iowa 24-0 before storming back for a 48-45 win.
The Vikings leave Sioux Falls just once in September, visiting Minnesota State for an evening contest on Sept. 14. The game is set for a 6 p.m. start at Blakeslee Stadium. Augustana returns home the following week, taking on Wayne State in week three. The Vikings and Wildcats kick off at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21.
In week four, Augustana faces their crosstown rival the University of Sioux Falls. For the first time in over two years, Augustana also plays on a Thursday night. Kickoff at Bob Young field is set for 6 p.m. The Vikings continue with back-to-back road games, visiting Bemidji State in week five. The Oct. 5, contest takes place at 2 p.m.
Augustana returns home on Saturday, Oct. 12 for the annual Viking Days game. A homecoming tradition since 1924, the Vikings take on St. Cloud State at 1 p.m. The following week, Augustana returns to the road as they visit MSU Moorhead at 1 p.m. The month of October will close with another Viking home game, taking on Minot State on Sat. Oct. 26 at 1 p.m.
Unlike a season ago, Augustana receives two straight home games this season. In week nine, the Vikings welcome in Concordia-St. Paul on Nov. 2 for a 1 p.m. kickoff at Kirkeby-Over Stadium. The Vikings final road game of the year brings them east to Winona State. The Warriors and Vikings square up at 1 p.m. on Nov. 9.
The Vikings close the regular season by taking on Southwest Minnesota State at 1 p.m. The contest marks the second-straight year Augustana and SMSU have played in the regular-season finale.
This Saturday, May 4, Augustana will hold their annual spring game at Kirkeby-Over Stadium, with kickoff at 1 p.m. Fans are encouraged to bring a non-perishable canned good item as a free-will donation to support Feeding South Dakota. Items of particular need right now are canned goods such as fruit, vegetables, soup/stems and spaghetti/ravioli type items. Admission is free.
