Hockey Day in South Dakota set for Jan. 12

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - The second annual “Hockey Day in South Dakota” is set to take place next Saturday, Jan. 12.

The Sioux Falls Stampede along with the Sioux Falls Youth Hockey Association, Brookings Rangers, the Scheels IcePlex and Denny Sanford PREMIER Center made the announcement Wednesday.

The PREMIER Center will host the Sioux Falls Flyers Bantam “A” against the Brookings Rangers at 12:15 p.m. The Flyers boys Varsity team will play host to Brookings at 2:15 p.m. in another rivalry game. The day concludes at 7:05 p.m. that evening when the Stampede play host to the Sioux City Musketeers inside the PREMIER Center.

A full slate of games are planned at the Scheels IcePlex, starting at 11:45 a.m. and includes the Sioux Falls Flyers girls JV squad set to face Rushmore at 12:15 p.m. The Flyers girls Varsity will host Rushmore just after 2 p.m. and the Flyers Pewee team hosts Mankato at 4:15 p.m.

Tickets for the games at the PREMIER Center are $12 and will be valid for both Flyers games as well as the Stampede game that night. Fans can purchase their tickets in advance through the Stampede office or the day of the game at the PREMIER Center.

Portions of each ticket sale will benefit the Sioux Falls Youth Hockey Association.
