It seems like South Dakota State and Quinnipiac are more similar than different for being five seeds apart. Both teams enter with 26-and-6 records, are on win streaks that rank among the top in the nation, and are receiving votes in the nation pole.
AJ: “I think yeah there are a lot of similarities you can use. The phrase the mid-majors, we’ve had a lot of success, we’ve both scheduled really well and it hasn’t been just a one-time thing. Both teams have had a really good trajectory for years now and specifically to them they defend well.”
The Jackrabbits continue to be led in nearly every statistical category by seniors Macy Miller and Madi Guebert.
Guebert: "We just have a lot of girls that have been through this before and even just knowing the expectation once we get here. Yeah, it's really awesome to be in the NCAA Tournament, but to get over the initial excitement, I think we can do that a little bit quicker almost."
Quinnipiac is also veteran le, with 10 upperclassmen who have been apart of the Bobcats past three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances.
FABBRI: “That’s what’s been really special and really unique about having the experience of being here in the past, not letting the moment get too big and getting too wide-eyed. We’ve really stayed in our routine and been able to be who we’ve been.”
