SAN JUAN, P.R. -- In day two of action at the Puerto Rico Classic, the Augustana women’s basketball team fell to Central Oklahoma, 59-55, on Thursday. The Vikings (5-1, 0-0 NSIC) see their undefeated start and five game win streak snapped, while the Broncos moved to 5-0 on the year.
Playing in their second of three games at the holiday tournament, the Vikings came up short in the final seconds, losing 59-55. Tied at halftime, the game finished with just one lead change. The game was neck and neck the entire 40 minutes, but the Broncos ended up pulling away at the end and sealing the win with some free throws down the stretch.
The Vikings were led by Vishe’ Rabb with career-high 15 points and five rebounds in just 21 minutes of action. The redshirt freshman from Springfield, Minn. also dished out two assists for the Vikings.
Lysney Prosser was right behind Rabb in the scoring column, prosser knocked down 5 of 11 shots for 13 points herself. The senior from Sturgis, S.D. also snagged three rebounds and grabbed a steal.
The Vikings shot just under 38 percent from the field today, going 23 of 61.
Tomorrow the Viking wrap up their Puerto Rico showing with a game against UPR Bayamon. The tip is set for 5:00 p.m. (AST).
