Yankton native Adam Vinatieri sets NFL scoring record

Yankton, South Dakota native and former South Dakota State Jackrabbit Adam Vinatieri climbed into the record books again on Sunday as he becomes the new NFL All-Time Leading Scorer.
The old record was set for more than a decade by Morten Anderson, until Vinatieri connected on a 25-yard field goal late in the second quarter. Vinatieri currently sits with 2,547 points as of halftime of Sunday's game.
Vinatieri became the record holder for most made field goals earlier in the month, and is also the oldest active player in the league at 45-years-old.
