No one was hurt when a vehicle caught fire on I-29 south of Sioux Falls Thursday morning.
According to the South Dakota Highway Patrol, it happened around 7:00 a.m. at the Tea exit. The occupants of a 1996 Buick Regal smelled something burning and noticed the vehicle was losing power, so they pulled over. When they opened the hood, flames could be seen coming from the engine compartment.
Everyone inside the car was able to make it out safely.
Crews from the Tea Fire Department were able to extinguish the fire. The northbound exit of the Tea ramp was briefly closed during the incident.
