The institute of Design & Technology presents Form + Fashion Meets Function on Friday, October 17th with collaborations of student fashion and interior creations at their annual event. Silent auction at 6 pm with runway to follow at 8pm. A historical first time runway debut of the newly launched fabrics from the Diane Von Furstenberg for Kravet Collections, including a "Retro-show" of her iconic fashions.
Once again IDTSD is hosting special guest design mentors from Project Runway. These guest designers will present their runway collections as the evening's grand finale; successful and popular designers from the most recent seasons are Season 12 finalist Helen Castillo, and Season 11 Winner Michelle Lesniak.
Through our connection with designer Diane Von Furstenberg and Kravet textiles, every one of our students is creating a project with one of her fabrics for the show, a once-in-a-lifetime collaborations not to be missed. Ms. Von Furstenberg is renowned for her colorful palette in fabric patterns and is celebrating the 40th anniversary of her iconic wrap dress.
The design students' portfolios will be on display all through the two-day expo. All proceeds from the event and silent auction supports programming for summer design camps, along with scholarship assistance for full time programs.
Mark your calendars for Thursday, October 23rd for the start of a new season of Project Runway All Stars, featuring both Helen and Michelle. Headlining on night 3 at FashioNXT 2014, Project Runway designers and All Stars brought couture to the Portland runway.
